Hello, my name is Emily.
I’m a marketer, teacher, storyteller, and hobby farmer based in the Good Harbor area of Leelanau County, Michigan.
I earned degrees in Advertising and Agribusiness, as well as a Master’s in History Education, from Michigan State University. I’ve continued learning about rural business and marketing through small business training with Five Marys Farms and Floret Farm. My professional experience as a history teacher at a local K–12 school and manager of media and marketing has given me years of hands-on experience writing newsletters, managing social media, creating content, taking photos, and telling the stories of a busy community.
But Golden Hour Studio is also personal. I love agriculture, rural communities, good food, beautiful things, old knowledge, and the people who work hard to create something worth sharing. I understand that when you’re busy growing, making, selling, hosting, fixing, or simply keeping a business running, marketing can easily fall to the bottom of the list.
That’s where I come in. I’ll listen to what matters to you, notice the stories worth telling, and work hard to help more people see the good work you’re already doing.
